Implementation Oversight Strategy Solution Design No vendor incentive Fully independant

The independence rule

Our independence position

Vector-Ops never sells implementation, software or managed services. We hold no stake in anything we recommend. That is not a marketing line. It is how the business is built.

Instead we provide good governance and implementation oversight

What that means

When we tell you a proposal is overpriced, a project is drifting or a supplier is underdelivering, there is no product behind the advice. No reseller margin, no managed service waiting in the wings.

Why it matters

Most IT advice in education comes from people with something to sell you. Independence removes the conflict, so leaders can act on our findings without second-guessing the motive.

What we sell instead

Judgement. Senior, evidence-based, vendor-neutral judgement on your technology estate, your spend and your suppliers, reported plainly to the people accountable for it.

What we do

Four disciplines. One job: confidence in your technology decisions.

VO/01

IT assurance

An independent review of your technology estate, controls, risks and delivery health. We tell you what is working, what is not, and what to do about it, in language a board can act on.

You get: a clear, prioritised picture of where you actually stand.

VO/02

Roadmap design

A structured, prioritised technology roadmap that ties IT investment to your educational and operational goals, so spend follows strategy rather than the loudest supplier.

You get: a defensible plan your board, your staff and your auditors can follow.

VO/03

Procurement challenge

Independent scrutiny of proposed purchases, supplier proposals and contracts. We ask the questions vendors hope nobody asks, before you sign rather than after.

You get: the right thing, at the right price, on the right terms.

VO/04

Delivery oversight

Independent oversight of projects and supplier delivery, holding implementers to account against scope, time, cost and quality, with honest reporting back to leadership.

You get: projects that finish what they promised, or early warning when they will not.

Findings you can act on, not a report that gathers dust.

Every engagement produces a plain-spoken findings register. Each item carries a status, an owner and a recommended action, so leadership teams and governors can see risk the same way they already review everything else: clearly, and at a glance.

How we work

A defined engagement, not an open-ended day rate.

Every engagement is scoped around an outcome you can name, with a clear start, a clear finish and findings you own at the end.

STEP 01

Scope

We agree the question you need answered, who the findings are for, and what evidence we will need to see.

STEP 02

Examine

We review the estate, the contracts, the projects or the proposal, speaking to your people and your suppliers as needed.

STEP 03

Report plainly

Findings land in plain English with a status, an owner and a recommended action. No padding, no jargon, no upsell.

STEP 04

Stand behind it

We will present findings to your board, governors or trustees, and provide ongoing oversight where you want a hand kept on it.

A note for internal IT teams: we work alongside you, not over you. Independent assurance gives your roadmap weight with leadership, backs your case for proper investment, and puts pressure where it belongs: on suppliers, not on you.

Who we serve

Schools, colleges and multi-academy trusts across the UK.

Trust executives

CEOs, COOs and CFOs

You are accountable for spend and risk across many schools. We give you an independent line of sight into whether technology money is being spent well, and the evidence to challenge it when it is not.

School and college leaders

Heads, principals and business managers

You should not need to be a technologist to know whether your IT is sound. We explain where you stand in plain terms and tell you exactly what needs attention, and in what order.

IT and operations leads

IT directors and network managers

You know the estate better than anyone. We add independent weight to your judgement, scrutinise suppliers on your behalf and help leadership hear what you have been telling them.

Governors and trustees

Boards and oversight committees

Scrutiny is your duty, but technology can be hard to scrutinise. Independent assurance gives your board findings it can rely on, reported in the language of risk and accountability you already use.

Start a conversation

Tell us the decision you need confidence in.

A renewal you are not sure about. A project that feels like it is drifting. A proposal that seems expensive but you cannot say why. That is usually where it starts.

There is no obligation and nothing to be sold. The worst outcome of a conversation with us is a clearer view of your own position.
